 God sends us small warnings signs before any harm is done to us. Problem is, we ignore those warning signs, opting to lean on our own understanding. He specifically said in his own words not to lean on our own understanding. You are your own worse enemy. Self inflicted wounds that could have been avoided.

If someone says your incorrect in your assessment of them, do not respond with anger. Ask yourself this, why would someone's assessment trigger such a reaction? Just because a person makes an assessment of you that's never been said, doesn't render them incorrect. It could simply mean they see something others didn't see. Or perhaps others didn't see the need to tell you and remained silent about it. It's a plethora of ways this can go. One person assessment of you does not necessarily define you, but it can also be an accurate assessment as well. Some people just have better insight than others, think about that. Often times it can be certain terminology people do not associate themselves with that triggers an angry reaction despite it's truth.

If you are incapable of allowing a person to be open with you, what exactly are you seeking? Because if deception quenches your thirst over honesty , you truly have no idea what life is all about.
